These don't come in any lower grits? What's the quality of the stone like?

Lower grits in water stones don't last long. They are quick to wear away then you need to level them and before you know it the stone is gone. Even a 1000 lasts a surprisingly short time. The largest DMT diamond synthetic stone* is way better value for coarse and keep the water stones for fine, they give an incredible finish.
And you may not even need lower than 1000... they remove knife material very quickly, it's completely different to 1000 on an oil stone.
*had one in the kitchen for 15 years now, still works like new.

aeberbachI would second that. If you need to set or re-set a bevel, nothing does the job like a diamond stone.

As many people have pointed out, it's cheaper on Amazon. 1000/6000 combination with base is $25.30 on Amazon, free shipping, arrives today. Total with shipping from Massdrop is over $28, arrives in two months. No thanks.

If you're sharpening plane irons and chisels on it, you should be flattening it in the first place before use...

Getting separate 1000 and 6000 stones here is about $12 more expensive than it is on Amazon. The 1000/6000 combo stone is about $3 more on here than it is on Amazon. Either way you're losing out.

I received mine 1.5 weeks ago. This was a pretty slow drop. Drop closed end-July, shipped early-Sept, arrived mid-Sept. One corner chipped :x

I received notice that this was being shipped. I contacted the company and they said there was nothing they could do about it. I could find no email confirmation that I placed an order.
The thing is, 6 months ago I bought $230 worth of high quality diamond sharpening stones. I had no reason to order these.Item was shipped from Korin in NYS. Their price 28.50. I also caught an order for a Boker knife that I did not order.
For me, Massdrop set up sales and charges over the retail price. And their system allows them to order something for me, even when I didn't order it.

I've just been notified that this will now be delayed and " If we find that the drop is going to be delayed by more than 30 days, we will let you know."
Is there a new anticipated shipping date? What reason is given for the delay?

Hi, Could someone who has received the actual stones before confirm what the size/measurements are? The measurements they are giving seem to be for the King S1 stones which are bigger, but the pictures show different than the description... Thanks!
