Get a better grip on hot pans, scalding pots, and cold concoctions with the Kitchen Grips Chef’s Mitt. The secret behind the mitt is the FLXaPrene material, which is malleable and comfy, but also super strong, stain resistant, and water repellent Read More
Saw them at Sur La Table and tried a pair on; large size fit my large hands a little snug but no real issue. For those concerned about returns and who live a reasonable distance from a retailer, the price was similar...
I got these on the last drop. They fit like a dream for my fiance and I. We both have smaller hands and the 10.25 was snug. So unless you have small hands I would get the 11inch version. They work great for opening containers. They are not bulky by any means. Really great products, especially for the price.
One thing to know, the description may say "heat resistant" to 500 degrees but if you pull a cast iron pan from a 475 degree oven, they'll transfer enough heat that you'll wish you had a pot holder in addition to the gloves. Mine are less than a month old and didn't make it through Thanksgiving without getting torn and slightly melted.
A couple things. The headline says "Chef's Mitt" but the picture is for gloves. Really, fix the headline. Even your description matches THEIR wording for their mitts, not their gloves.
Second, please reach out to manufacturer and get some equivalency on the sizes. Is their "large" the equivalent of a "large" for men's gloves, or for women's gloves? Or is it the equivalent of an extra large for men? Or for women?
I've gotten a lot of kitchen mitts and gloves over the years that I have to re-gift because I can't get my hands in them, and I wear a men's large glove - really, not an unusual size but most gloves and mitts are sized for women's hands. Not eager to continue a string of re-gifting.
It's a two minute check - if Kitchen Grips doesn't know, go to a store, try on a couple of regular leather gloves and add the info. I'd love to get these, but not if it requires faith...
EdinNJI also wear a men's large in gloves and I bought these from Amazon a month ago, size large. They fit my hands just fine. For the record, my hand, spread apart, measures between 8.5 and 9" from pinkie to thumb
* edit - I checked my Amazon history, I bought them in November. Feels like longer ;)
Dang it.
I thought these would be the end all be all of chef gloves.
Sadly I can't imagine wearing these while food prepping, you know cutting meats and veggies and moving on to grilling then frying etc while moving between stations.
Did I just start an idea for an invention?
