Product Description
The futuristic-looking Kizer Kesmec is most recognizable for its large thumb hole, which resembles the eye of a reptile when the knife is open. Cut out of the 3.6-inch VG-10 blade, the angular hole is designed for thumb placement when rotating the knife open Read More
I got this last time (a few months ago). It's nice, but the build quality was a little below current generation Kizers. The liners are roughly made and the washer setup is a little different...thick metal washers (not very smooth) combined with a paper-thin teflon washer. The blade rotates against the teflon and the metal ones are basically working as spacers. The teflon washers in mine had a much bigger diameter than the metal so I trimmed them down with scissors.
You don't really notice unless you disassemble the knife because the action is very smooth and the quality of the handles outside is good. I'm wondering if they are still made the same way or have they updated the knife construction, as they have many of their other older models?
Hey everyone,
The Description and Specs and blade markings pictured are correct - steel is VG-10, not S35VN.
The title has been corrected, sorry for the confusion on this one. We should have more well-priced S35VN from Kizer soon...

I have this same knife in the orange G-10 with the VG-10 steel and can attest that it is a very well made blade. Action is very good, ergonomics are above average and the durability is what you'd expect with VG-10. I keep it with my camping stuff and have used it to cut rope, open packages, trim branches and sharpening sticks for roasting marshmallows and other car camping/simple bushcrafting type activities and it's been a champ. Even with the VG-10 steel, $60 is still a very good price for this knife. Not the OMG price it would be if it had S35VN, but good nonetheless.
