Kizer Ki4492 Alter Ego Titanium Flipper Knife

The Kizer Alter Ego has multiple personalities. Its nice side? The sleek stonewashed finish, blue anodized pivot accents, and carefully grooved titanium handle. Its mean side? 3.5 inches of the best commercial steel on the market and a flipper that deploys the blade quicker than you can imagine. Measuring over 8 inches long, the knife clocks in at just under 5 ounces, which is large enough for most any task that comes your way on a typical day. Holding the blade in place is a tough frame lock machined out of the titanium handle. The pocket clip offers support for tip-up carry on either side, and it’s colored to match the frame. 

Developed by Crucible Industries (one of the leading manufacturers of specialty steels for the cutlery industry) and Chris Reeve (pioneer of the integral frame lock, featured on the Gent), S35VN is perhaps the most balanced blade steel ever created in terms of all-around performance. It’s made through a process known as Crucible Powdered Metallurgy, which results in near perfect consistency in the distribution of carbides. Compared to conventional melting practices, the CPM process produces a steel characterized by superior dimensional stability, grindability, and toughness.
