Great
First higher end production knife I bought. The milled scale makes it feel much more expensive then it is. My own knock on it is the S35vn heat treat isnt as good as some other knives but other wise a execellent user knife as it is on washers vs bearings(easier to clean)

This was my 2nd knife I bought and also 2nd least expensive of 5 I currently own. At the same time it is most frictionless and fluid opening out of them all. It is very satisfying to open and close it. Once the detent force is overcome there is this is extremely well balanced, almost equilibrium like, mix of natural resistance which is cancelled by weight and momentum of opening blade. You apply the force to overcome the detent and after that it usually just slides with natural heft into open position. And when you close it is is like going through butter with this almost warm feel to it like your fingers are actually relaxing by doing the work :). It is like a self-inflicted massage :). What I am trying to say is that it is a real joy to use it.   I can open and close it for hours :).   And then there are ascetics. It is a big tall blade. In real life it looks a bit like pirate sword of the knife but the combination of the sculpted titanium frame somehow works with it and in general it seems right in my big hands.   It comes well sharp, easily cutting through sheet of paper and well oiled.   What was slight disappointment was the finish of the blade. I thought it will be more polished when it is a bit on a raw side of things but now after a while I think it suites the design better as it this a bit of a worker rather than gentlemen’s folder. The photos here are accurate albeit a bit clever in the way they were taken to mask this fact a bit.   I would definitely buy it again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality blade, either for daily use or as an addition to the collection.   It is quality materials but we all know it. Titanium plus quality steel.   I have now 2x Mcusta blades, 1x Kizer, 1x Spyderco and 1x Rike. Out of those best bang for buck are definitely Rike and Kizer. Spyderco is just good but did not WOW me at 200 USD in any department, Mcusta at 300 is quite special but it due to design which I really love rather than to quality as quality is sub-par at this price point and Rike is very good but my, this Kizer is best of them all as the whole package and at 100 USD it is a steal.   My next knife will be another Kizer - I want to confirm that it was not once off but rather house quality which can be expected on all products.   Any questions, ask away, I will do my best to answer. Good luck

. the very style of this type of knife isnt meant to be a super fast knife..the back flipper is just like many others (like CRKTm16) it has a back flipper but doesn't mean its a super fast auto style knife. designed for single hand operating with gloves on. my review: so far, ive been carrying this kizer ki401b1 nonstop edc since i got it, is nothing but good. i cant stop looking at it....its a sexy looking frame....back and forth lines make and keep gripping easy. I've passed it around to friends proud fully seeing and judging people's reactions. most are almost shocked... the ones that know good steel and craftsmanship are also shocked and at closer inspection.... see the s35vn engraved blade and are impressed and envious. out of the box this knife came almost soaked with oil...good couple wipe downs fixed that. i do have some cons i can list but are mostly preferences. - the overall weight, and the clip, which i saw to be problematic before i purchased or got it in hand. difficult to carry in gym shorts. although titanium, the clip seems a bit weak....sporting a single screw seems like a bad call. the clip play flexing a bit much more than i am used to (such as spyderco's slim steel design..my older edc) the flexible clip, over time i have found, also allows to get the very grippy titanium frame some room to be removed from a pocket or waistband....which is needed, due to the liner lock adjustment screw.the clip is ill placed adjacent to the lock adjustment screw. poorly designed flush against the head of the screw dig into clothing while trying to draw the knife from a pocket or waistband. . also the clip itself has a big profile end...making it annoying to rub against your hand or have possibly paint scratch issues on brushing against a car or whatever.... i contacted kizer and was shipped free of charge a new clip screws and frame screws do to trying to bend the clip into a better shape...(also unlike spyderco...thick but slim profile) to be honest if i can find aftermarket parts or a smith i would replace the stock clip, or hammer the end down a bit. -rear blade jimping... is very smooth and hard to get a good grip of my thumb i would like sharper jimping.(unlike spyderco very deep almost sharp jimping) i may take a file to sharpen the jimping. -the overall size is a bit smaller than i thought... -the blade tip, face, and grind aren't really...good.... its what you want to avoid in a knife and makes stone sharpening difficult... the rounded cut is difficult instead of a flatter blade face.... it sorta curves in...and creates a gap when slicing food or on flat surfaces. the demensions were given so i should have made a cardboard model to see size in my hands. i wanted a rugged, end of days, edc, tactical, secondary to my fixed blade, folder....large folding knife capable of defense and a tool... this knife is all of that and very nice sized knife, i just have big hands i suppose. all this considered this knife after a 1+year plus edc i would buy this knife again if stolen but maybe the blacked out tactical 401DT or the 401D1

Very nice design imo, ergonomics aren't the greatest. Overall a solid knife.

Amazing knife! I actually dropped it accidentally outside in the snow at night while I was walking my dog and didn’t find it until two moths later right there on the ground, in the dirt with not a blemish on it! No rust, nothing! Great knice!

Very asthetic and great materials. Detent is wayyyy too strong....I can't flip the knife open with the thumb studs....so they're basically useless. Knkfe has both nylon and PB washers which is a bit odd. Overall I would buy again

Great looking knife.

Great knife. Wish it had a different blade shape, otherwise perfect. (update 2019): After several years of buying knives (many of them from Drop.com), I think this is my all-time favorite knife. What makes it so cool is the form and function. It's the perfect balance of art and mechanical excellence. I have now shown this knife to hundreds, maybe thousands of people, I always plug Drop.com and the great people here. If I could change only one thing, I would have preferred that the thumbstuds marry into the titanium handles, like many other knives do. This is a minor complaint, and would have made it a bit stronger as a potential defensive knife, but that one touch would have made this knife perfect. Love, love, love this knife!
