I am biased since I am a dealer for Kizer over four years now. My partner and I have bought over 575 Kizers through the years. Because some models use bushings, they do require some break-in time, as suggested. I have never adjusted the pivot on a Kizer! A little time, a little lube, that's it! If you don't want to wait for the break-in, go ahead and adjust the pivot but, be prepared to adjust again after break-in. Most of Kizer's new models use ceramic ball bearings for the pivot. Super smooth right out of the box. No break-in period and no adjustment necessary. BTW, half of the knives in Kizer's newest catalog are collaborations with Matt Cucchiara, Dirk Pinkerton, Ray Laconico, Mike Vagnino, John Gray, Glenn Klecker, Justin Gingrich and others!
