What to do? What to do? I just got the price of this knife for a couple of small jobs the last two mornings. I really don't like recurve blades. One of my Kizer's is. It was one of their standard Ti/S35VNs on for $85 at SMKW. I couln't say no. I don't carry it because it's a recurve. This is gorgeous....in my eyes. Nice, clean lines. Great blade shape. And a very stout blade. I doubt that it will be a great slicer, but I've got the issue covered. I managed to drag my feet until the starfighter was no longer available. The only way I might get sidetracked is the Eric Ochs Lynx. Maybe I can take my knives to the grave.

Has anyone else opened one of these up? I was surprised by the washer setup. Other Kizers I've seen with washers had nylon against the titanium, and bronze against the blade. This one goes bronze against the titanium, then nylon, then another bronze against the frame.... I'm wondering what the purpose of that is? I saw the one review so far mention a torn nylon washer, and gotta say I'm not surprised if it's sandwiched between two metal washers that are twisting in opposing directions. Seems like unnecessary risk of friction if it runs dry, no?

Logically, (that's my logic) the more moving parts, the higher the chance of failure. Maybe it functions in a failsafe way. With a couple of extra layers, hopefully one will have some lubrication, keeping the opening easy.

14themoneyLol maybe. But I don't think I've ever had a bronze washer fail me without 3 layers of metal and plastic

Gonna give it a shot, looking at the handle gives me some inspiration for customizations.....but i'm really hoping the off centered pivot will bother my OCD less in person lol

This looks to be a very nice knife at a very nice price. Other retailers seem to have it at around $180 or so. I read somewhere that it was briefly on sale at blade hq for something like $146. This feels like a legitimately good deal on a knife that was already a solid value at full price especially considering reviewers have compared it favorably (ergos and fit & finish) to the spydie chef which retails for $218.
BUY THIS KNIFE! Iv'e owned it for a year now and I love it! It's incredibly smooth and has zero hotspots. It slices like a dream and has a wonderful blade finish. This is about $40-$50 then what you would normally get it for!

Tbh if this was in a slightly more interesting steel I’d be all over it. Love the design.
