It’ll fit wherever you need it—in your pocket, on your keychain, in the glove box, or on your desk—and it can shine a light brighter than you’d ever expect. Built with a Nichia NVSW219CT LED, the Klarus Mi1C HCRI can shine a 395-lumen beam up to 260 feet Read More
Bear in mind this is the HCRI version of Klarus’ Mi1C (sold elsewhere on Drop). Lumens are lower but beam reach is farther and color rendering better. A review on Candlepowerforums says:
“Today, the little thumb-sized pocket monster, KLARUS Mi1C brings his new brother home.
KLARUS Mi1C HCRI, a Nichia high CRI diffused EDC Flashlight simulates natural lighting condition.
It uses an orange peel reflector, delivering 395 lumens and beam distance of up to 77 meters, while KLARUS Mi1C uses a single convex lens, delivering 600 lumens and beam distance of 40 meters.” https://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?450220-New-Mini-EDC-Flashlight-KLARUS-Mi1C-HCRI-Release!!!!
The advantage of HCRI is better color rendering of objects and landscapes that the beam falls on.
”High-CRI LED lighting is a light-emitting diode (LED) lighting source that offers a high color rendering index (CRI). CRI is a quantitative measure of a light's ability to reproduce the colors of objects faithfully in comparison with an ideal or natural light source.” https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-CRI_LED_lightingSo this one is neither worse or better than the standard Mi1C light, just different. I have the standard model in Deep Copper bellow among other mini flashlights.
Thanks for the thoughts! I'm personally a fan of even and dispersed beams, makes it easier to make out detail without the sharp hotspot. Was hoping this would have a... beam like a wizard but a bit more directed than that.
Though the 39-395 lumen step is confusing.
MelezI have one of these. I really like it. VERY floody. Don’t worry about the buttons. There is little risk it will turn on in your pocket with the way they are designed. You do have to consciously push it to turn it on. That’s not a bad thing.
