Hmmm, might not be anodizing this after all, unless someone can tell me how to disassemble the head on this one without destroying it? I only found one example of a disassembled Mi7 online, and it involved a vice and a pipe wrench, and revealed a LOT of glue inside the piece 😒 I guess I've never tried taking apart a sealed LED flashlight before, but I wasn't expecting that

KavikSo I finally got around to anodizing this light. This was my 2nd ever ano job. The battery portion was cake, just removed the spring, cleaned it, etched it, and anodized it. Then I took some 800g sandpaper, hit the edges, flats, and bottom with it, then back in the solution at a lower voltage for a different color. The head though was a bit different. I didn't want to disassemble the whole thing after what you mentioned months ago. I just wrapped a piece of titanium wire around it, attached the positive lead, and just kind of held it in the solution until I got a color I liked. I then rotated the head, and did the same thing. It may not match the body, but I think it look pretty cool!

jjl1911Interesting results 👍 I still haven't bothered trying to pull mine apart (too many other projects, and my power supply is still busted anyway), but I was always too nervous to do it without disassembling, wasn't sure what all that electricity would do to the electronics inside
