I got speakers primarily for my turntable. I ended up buying a pre-amp and a power amp to run them. I do heart the sound, but the little amp would have been both cheaper and more streamlined. And you could also tie in a digital source. It just seems like a good solution, you know?

zanthineI hear you. I would have hoped that a powered amp would have made those accessories unnecessary, but I guess, that in your opinion, the sound was insufficient without them?

Probably because it makes most drops of any significance cost prohibitive. Perhaps complaining about it doesn't achieve a whole lot, granted, but simply paying it is only going to ensure that it stays as is/increases. for example, this item, which I was interested in prior to doing the math is going to sting me around $720au landed. Not including any taxes etc I may incur. Certainly takes the shine off deal :)
As stated above, if I wanted to send something to the states as an individual with no buying power, I could do so for 1/3 to 1/2 the price, yet companies over in the states charge out costs significantly more than what it costs me personally when they are sending many many items around the globe.

Seeing as the amp is $299, I don't see why I wouldn't spend $69 more for the pair of R-15M.

When researching the amp I came across this warning on newegg.com.

Curious that their marketing would have that the amp can drive difficult speakers when Klipsch is known to have some of the most efficient speakers on the market. Only that the amp is sold paired with these speakers, otherwise understandable for the amp itself.
I looked closely at this package before getting my SMSL AD18/KEF Q100 combo at a little over what this one is dropping for. At the time, this Klipsch pkg was a little more. Based on what I read prior to my purchase, this seems like a screaming good deal, even if I'm not the biggest fan of the speakers' look.
