I'm a dbag and I'll prove it. As much as I wanted the Sieveking. I couldn't justify the price for bent wood. And I love German engineering. This thing here screams style.
But I still can't justify it when for over 4 years I've been throwing my V-Moda headphones of which I own 3 pairs on to my granite desk, bed, wood floor, and even the kitchen and bathroom counter. So I guess owning headphones made of metal and good plastic outweighs a wood stand regardless of design. That's just my opinion.
If my headphones cost $500 and up, this and the Sieveking could be justified unless you just want to show off and put some $50 cans on this.
How did I do?

BrainFlushOh snap, another vmoda person, hurray! I don't mean to piss off the vendor, but even if I had a $500 set of cans, I still would not find this product attractive at that price. I might just not have the eye or full knowledge to appreciate it, but at the end of the day, it's wood on a metal base -aluminum for crying out loud. It looks ok, I guess, but it doesn't blow my mind to say yep, that's worth >$50

JJtoobAlways good to see others out here. My V-Modas are awesome! They feel and act invincible. And that warranty slash forever trade-in is unbeatable.
Now as to this stand. I think it's pretty damn alluring. To me it's far more appealing than the Sieveking. Is it worth the amount asked? Yes. Because I've asked wood artists to make me something and even a simple design is quite expensive to commission. Which is the reason I end up waiting around until I find something far cheaper but eye pleasing. So time is on my side.
I want this but I wouldn't justify the cost.

BrainFlushI'd like it if my current headphones were that durable. My ol' Ultrasone Signature Pro was built like a tank.
I know what can happen to something rather expensive like an HD800 if you forgo using any headphone stand or the box it comes in or using it as a hockey puck; I can't tell which in this instance. See : http://www.head-fi.org/t/792264/sennheiser-hd800-w-anax-mod-s-n-33xxx-23-photos-added note: that's not to advertise my sale as it's already sold. I just don't want to post that many photos here.
My TH900 is vulnerable to being scratched quite easily compared to some other headphones. I'll never place it on my desk. It's only potential cosmetic blemishes, but those diminish their appeal and resale value.
Both of those headphones mentioned are fragile compared to some other offerings and rather expensive. Premium priced headphone on a premium priced stand doesn't seem out of line to me dependent upon priorities. If you already have everything else in your chain sorted out (dac, amp, headphone, cable, etc.), a headphone stand isn't unreasonable. I almost bought the Sieveking Omega stand on the last drop. I decided to put that money towards a power conditioner instead.
I find both the Sieveking and Klutz designs stands to be appealing. However, I ended up buying a Woo Audio Double Headphone stand due to: 1) price. 2) height adjustability. 3) it fits 2 headphones as opposed to just 1. Really good value if you aren't dead set on Wood. I don't want multiple headphone stands on my desk anymore either.
Would I like to own one of these? Yes. Will I ever buy one? Unlikely. I'll gladly accept one for free though. :)

socks_OCDI bought V-Moda because the rep told me they're durable. 4 years later and all three pairs are in incredible shape. I want a stand but I guess not bad enough because I use my headphones on average 8 hours a day. So they're on my head all the time and only down when I'm switching locations. It's like a headphone rotation buffet. I'm not lazy to use a stand it's just they won't be on it long. I still like this one a lot.

JJtoobTotally with you on this one man. A headphone stand that's over $35 is an overkill. My DT880's and HD600's rest on a 'stand' that I got for free when my niece and I were browsing a local thrift store. She wanted a couple dolls and the cashier forgot to take out the metal backing that supported them on display.
I guess it's more for obnoxious reasons than for practical ones to 'spend' on a headphone stand.
Another asshole supporting your thoughts.
