The product bundle I purchased did not include the backpack. The Klymit bag, pad, and inflatable pillow are all excellent products "individuality" which makes this cost savings of this bundle excellent. I am a six foot, 250 pound guy who is a "side sleeper" and I was not constricted in any way using this bag. Love it! PS - We need some bundles on Arc'teryx jackets and shells. Let's do it Massdrop!

Great starter buddle. Worth it for the Sleeping Bag
I have owned and used this setup on several hikes and camp outs. I have used the sleeping bag in winter / late fall overnights with temps around -10C I did use a fleece blanket inside the sleeping bag for extra warmth but otherwise I was very cozy. I run hot when I sleep. The sleeping bag is fantastic for the price. It is very well made, has draft protection around the zipper and neck and you can adjust the length of the footbox. I am 5' 11" an can still fit with the footbox decreased by one notch. It compresses down very nice as well. Lots of stretch so you can move around, sleep on your side etc.. It is a decent pad as well. In winter / late fall I put a second pad underneath to increase the R value. It is fairly durable and a quiet pad. I am a side sleeper and toss around and for the most part I am comfortable. I will probably look into a thicker pad in the future but you can sleep on your side without any real issue. The pillow is decent enough and fits well in the headbox of your sleeping bag but I replaced this soon after with a Trekology Pillow off Amazon that was bigger and my head stays on it. Still a nice addition to a fantastic sleeping bag and pad combo. I didn't get the backpack so I cannot comment.

I think this starter kit could have been better by allowing changing sizes on backpack and sleep gear. I had to buy the Klymit XL bag separately and I havent bought the sleeping pad yet but it would have been nice. Meaning the kit was great for my son and lots of savings achieved but I would have bought another for myself if I had a choice on the size and a smaller pack for my kid.

Your review sounds like you didn't purchase this bundle, yet you are debating about this "specific" bundle. The bottom line here is I purchased "this bag" in "this bundle." The bag is plenty roomy for me even though I am the same weight AND two inches taller. Using dimensions from a spec sheet doesn't give you the same information that actually testing the bag does. Peace, Out.

I did not buy this bundle, but the one without the backpack. I have used the sleeping pad and bag for winter trips (25 degrees f) and they work well in both a tent or in my hennessy hammock. I am a side sleeper and find the pad has enough give to keep my hips from grounding out. The inflator works well for me and has the added benefit of not trapping moist air from your lungs in the sleeping pad.

Overall the bundle is a good way to get into backpacking without having to do too much research or shopping. That being said, the rapid air pump is anything but - as far as I'm concerned it's a complete waste of money. Blowing into the pad was significantly quicker and required less effort.
