Good news! The group's order arrived earlier to our warehouse in New Jersey and our team is now hard at work breaking down the shipment into the individual packages. We anticipate everything being turned around and ready to ship by the middle of this week and we'll be sure to update the group again once we've confirmed complete shipment!
Thanks for your patience and expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 11/13 or sooner if something comes up.
The 20F rating on this is not realistic. I like this bag, but I took it out recently where the temperatures overnight were around 36F and I was uncomfortably cold. I was inside a small tent, wearing thin, longsleeved PJs and a knit hat, and there was a light but steady breeze outside. Next time I'll bring a bag liner and some long-johns.
It’s happening! Thanks to each of you, the drop was a success and we have contacted the vendor for the Klymit KSB 20 Synthetic Sleeping Bag and submitted the group’s order. They are now working hard and preparing your orders for shipment to our warehouse in New Jersey, where our team will be standing by ready to break everything down into individual orders and reship them directly to you. We currently expect to have everything out of our warehouse and on its way to you by 11/13.
We will certainly keep you up to date on the process and provide all of you with updated information about the order status as soon as it becomes available to us.
You can expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 11/10 .
jottoh12@jottoh12 - Klymit claims this is a 20 degree bag. When it first came out they said it was a 10 degree, and shortly thereafter changed that to 20 degree. We had changed the Specs to reflect the more accurate 20 degree rating, but I guess the changes haven't been updated yet. I'll make sure this happens today.
As for the loft, this bag requires less loft than a standard sleeping bag due to the stretchy baffles. Check out the highly-regarded Montbell bags that use a similar design. It really works, I can attest to that. Now that being said, as far as I know this bag is not EN rated and therefore it's not as easy to compare to other bags.
I'm interested but can't find any reviews of the synthetic model. Only the down version.
Anyone link us to a review of this synthetic bag? The down version gets good reviews, FWIW.
K.T.NI've only used the one I ordered twice. Both times around 52F and I was comfortable without extra clothes on. Not a thorough review, but I haven't had the chance to use it more often yet.
CarlitoThis used to be listed as a 10 degree bag on Klymit's site, but they have since updated it to more conservatively call it a 20 degree bags. I've changed our Specs to reflect this. Note that there have not been any changes to the bag itself, just the temperature rating assigned to it. Thanks @Carlito for pointing this out.
