I don't see any mention of paddles?

StrangeI don't understand. Are you saying that this raft comes with no means to use it and I should spend another $40+ to achieve that? That's ridiculous. Would you buy a car that came without wheels?

LongHawlYou could float or use your hands. It doesn't come with a motor either. But seriously, quality, choice, etc. Doesn't come with a floatation device either. These used to be about $150 and I'd rather get my own paddle then get something cheap and subpar like the explorer 200's come with. You want a cheap raft with a paddle, could always get that.

LongHawlWhen you buy a pack are you miffed that it doesn't come with a sleeping bag? If you buy hiking boots are you upset that trekking poles were not included?
People like different kinds of paddles, and by not including them you are able to choose the type that best suits you.

BuzzL1ghtyearI'd be upset if the tent didn't come with poles that make it functional. Functional! People do like different paddles.

ElsidThat's a stupid comparison. Paddles are sized / shaped to the person using them. Why would you want to pay more for them to include a piece of gear that doesn't fit you? For a good experience, you'd end up having to go buy a legit paddle anyways.

ElsidI haven't even bought a tent with poles, I use my trekking poles for all my set ups. Personal choice too as I wanted ones that fold up to smaller length to fit on my bike bag. Great actually since my current set up is all exactly the same length. Some people don't even use paddles with these, I personally have 3 of these and found 2 of the 3 paddles I use.

BuzzL1ghtyearI like hiking boots with no shoe strings, and then use paracord. Just enough to jump off a cliff. I kid.

StrangeDon't want to be up or down the creek without a paddle.lol. Thats a great idea. What tent and trekking poles do you use? Any thing that lowers your weight is great. I'm going to start building my gear so that I can take my Son on some real adventures. We live half the year in the Blueridge mountains of Wv. and half in Tallahassee Fl. Both have wonderful places to hike and camp. Any advice on gear, or anything else, would be greatly appreciated. Our dog, Blue ( half Siberian husky and half German shepherd. A Gerbarian Shepsky.) will be accompanying us. Where's the best place that you've hiked and camped? Thanks and have a great day!, Sidney Michele
