I bought the "special" edition Massdrop version last time, and there is nothing special about it, in fact it is inferior to the normal version. The valve on the normal one uses a push w/ 1/4 twist lock valve that allows you to push pull it open and closed for a more quick seal, the Massdrop version uses a standard screw valve that does not allow you to close the seal nearly as fast. I would highly recommend buying the real version of the pillow over the inferior Massdrop version.

TinCanFury@TinCanFury - Kudos for being the first person to notice this difference, as even I didn't notice it. I called Klymit and you're right, the valves on the two Pillow X models are slightly different. Thanks for pointing this out and I'll update our Specs. That being said, the valve on ours is pretty much the industry standard and works perfectly well.

DannyMilks"the valve on ours is pretty much the industry standard and works perfectly well" spoken like a non-engineer!
yes, perfectly well, but when a superior version is available, one that I've found to make using the pillow that much better, I feel it should be fair warning that a better version can be had. since I would agree that the rest of the pillow *is* functionally the same, it's a shame that this one great feature is the impetus for cost savings.
