I'm 6'4", 220 lbs, and a side sleeper. This was my first proper sleeping pad. I used this pad on a canoe trip, sleeping on sand banks and wooden platforms. It was great. I was pleasantly surprised at how firm I could make it, without it loosing any firmness while sleeping on my side and back, without ever feeling the ground/platform underneath. I also like that my feet and head weren't hanging off either end.
I camp in the south where it doesn't get that cold, so I'm not concerned with the insulating factors, and can't say how well it works for that.
