klymit is pretty good stuff at a good price...it’s not the lightest, or high-end but it works. I own the air mattress and it’s great for the family/car camping,I’ll even bring it backpacking, I’ve had a for a few years now and I have nothing but pro’s to say about it. The pillows on the other hand I felt was very uncomfortable, didn’t hold air and I returned them. The quilt as well I returned after a season of camping which was once every few months. I mainly used the quilt as a pillow, it did an ok job but for the money and user ness I got the down quilt drop is selling. Also a tip: Costco sells a lot of klymit stuff, you’re almost better off buying it from Costco due to their return policy

Cheap shipping to Europe and I'd be all over this.

I've got to go home and measure my bivy bag, but I think this pad might fit just right inside the bag. I've been thinking about cutting a rectangular closed foam pad down to fit in my mummy sack bivy so my pad doesn't slide out from under me at night. This might be a good fit for not too much cost (or it might not fit). I don't think the blanket is good for more than spring and summer camping, but where it may be a real winner is on airplanes and general travel. I like to have my own blanket on the planes and trains, but carrying a blanket that takes up half my daypack is usually a non starter. The cost for the kit doesn't look too high. We'll see this evening if I end up being the 1 purchaser that's needed to fill this drop.

SeanMcBrideI don't have the blanket but from the sounds of it, you might love the down quilts that costco sales occasionally. They're only 20 dollars and pack decently small, the size of a typical nalgene , and are surprisingly warm.

MickifreeI have two of those blankets and they are great. I highly recommend them. You will have some down escape the blanket after a month or so of hard use, but no big deal. I’ve received the klymit blanket and am very happy with it.

Is there additional duty/tax that needs to be paid to the shipping company on receiving the package in Canada?

hasanoneYes there is. I paid an additional $49 Canadian at pick up from Canada post for the Granite Gear x60 pack. It was here in less than 2 weeks.

Why no size options for us short people?

Indeed, 47$ ship plus 20$ tax to Switzerland and it's not such a great deal anymore... but massdrop is still interesting as a community to discove cool stuff. Thats what I use it for.

arober02You find many cool things on massdrop...too bad their shipping methods are too expensive... I mean if they are owned by amazon, why not use the same shipping services like amazon? or ship it with amazon...

themaskeduserA big part of the customs bill is the handling charge by the courier to collect the tax. Also a lot if the times the shipping company gets it wrong and charges tax on the whole order value (with shipping) when they should just be charging for the value if the items only. This can be avoided if you the seller collects the import duties and sends it directly to the destination countries customs. I bought s watch from jomashop and they offered that option and the total outlay was a lot less than if I had to pay on delivery

I purchased this bundle on a drop a few months ago. I went back and purchased the dark green "massdrop made" V pad because I think it is superior, and a matching X-pillow in size XL (way more comfortable for side sleeping). I highly recommend both pads and the pillow, and the optional Motion Pack is amazing for that price point. I think most users will find the blanket to be way too cold, so much so that it is pretty much useless. Klymit calls the blanket a 3-season, but it is really more like a 50-55 degree summer-only blanket.

Pretty cool looking bundle for someone starting out or upgrading. Hadn't seen that blanket before. For someone balling on a budget seems like a versatile option.

Here's the discussion for the backpack, if you're considering that too: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/klymit-motion-60l-backpack/talk#discussions
