In 2011, Knottery New York began with only $500 and a desire to create a new kind of luxury product. It was a success, in large part because the company put materials, details, and presentation above all else. This grenadine tie is no different. Made in Como, Italy, out of silk sourced from an Italian mill, it features an untipped construction and hand-rolled edges, plus an Italian bar tack on the back of the tie.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of color: black, brown, burgundy, forest green, or navy. As these ties are made to order, please expect a 6-week lead time.
So named for their woven texture, grenadine ties are must-have accessories for any formal wardrobe. For one thing, they’re easy to match with a variety of suits, as they most often come in one solid color. But don’t mistake monochrome for humdrum. Thanks to their woven construction, they add a dose of visual pop to any suit. They were decidedly de rigueur in the ‘50s and ‘60s (see: Don Draper and James Bond). And while they fell out of fashion in the late 20th century, grenadines have made a serious comeback today.
