Made in Germany? No thanks. If anyone is interested in American made and, IMO, much nicer looking ties, check out Beau Ties! I have one of their silks and it's gorgeous!

Most hardcore tie enthusiasts would agree that this factory in Germany makes the best knit ties in the world. That place of origin carries a lot of weight in the tie industry.

What do you have against Germany?

wkpsfbxThat they aren't the US. I do what I can to support craftsmanship in my country instead of us just becoming the Nation of Wal-Mart, or at least any more than we already are.

How does purchasing a German-made tie attribute to "becoming the Nation of Wal-Mart"?

tlmaderBecause you are choosing to support a retailer distributing a foreign made product through unskilled labor instead of supporting skilled labor in the US. No support for skilled labor = no skilled labor jobs. No skilled labor jobs = unskilled labor jobs. Unskilled labor jobs = everyone flipping burgers and selling Chinese junk.

Please do not make claims about a product you do not have any familiarity with. There is nothing wrong about supporting made in USA products but your assumptions are completely false.

You misunderstood my post. The retailer distribution is the unskilled labor. I'm not making any claims about these ties nor am I saying that ties made in America are inherently better, just better for our industry and for keeping America from slipping even further down the food chain.
