Just wondering if the magnets are strong enough to affect mechanical watches.

How do you activate the pen? Push - clicky? Or twist mechanism?

48thRonin2Look at the pictures of the pen open and closed side by side. The two outer segments of the pen are pushed together or pulled apart and held using internal magnets to open and close the pen.

I have the titanium version of this pen and it is very nice. It has never opened in my pocket. Could it use a clip? Yeah, but that doesn't bother me. I keep it in my pants pocket when I carry it. The open-and-close mechanism is solid. It feels nice and writes well for a ballpoint pen. If I didn't have one already, I could have jumped on this deal.

Boy, would this pen benefit from a clip. So easily fell out of my pocket that I had it for a week before I lost it.

Wondering if writing utensils are greater than, or equal to, writing instruments? You know, as opposed to say, a pen?

RayFWriting instruments sounds sophisticated. So others will know that it's not just some plebeian pen.

That mechanism looks really neat, but I'd be worried about deploying the pen in pocket.

nathan.coulombeCan’t speak for these because I’ve never held or seen one, but I have a very similar pen from a custom maker that also has a magnetic cap. The magnets are really quite strong and the cap fits nicely. Plus you have to fight those magnets while raising the cap a good 0.5-1” to get the cap to clear the pen tip when removing the cap, so it’s not like a little bump will knock it off. I’ve never had an issue with the cap coming off when I didn’t want it to and in my opinion as an engineer this is a very safe and good idea. Again, however, I have NOT held/used this particular pen. Only similar.

BilllllSorry, never mind. Not sure what I was looking at but this isn’t remotely similar to what I was talking about
