The cable should a little thicker and connected to the headphone in a more sturdy way. I bought 3 of them and I have been really gentle handling them but still on 2 of them the cable now does not make a good connection and the music comes and goes. These could definitely use better materials and a more sturdy craftmanship.

I really liked these headphones. Lightweight, nicely balanced sound stage. Until i was done listening to some music and took them of and they just broke in half. The size adjusting mechanism on the sides is just how it looks, fragile. It broke when i took of the headphones with one hand. I tried to glue it together. But it broke again after some time. Shame really as these were very comfortable to wear. I cannot recommend these until they make these from stronger plastics or better yet, all metal.

I got mine and was immediately impressed by the sound but immediately annoyed by the fact that the Y split was twisted into a double helix that went to my chin, and the earpads that felt like rugburns. I'm not usually picky, nor do I mess with earpads. I have a relatively agreeable head. So I did some googlin' and found you can pop the drivers off with a butter knife. Bought a Porta Pro Yaxi pad variety pack (orange for the KPH40's and red/blue for these) and then carefully popped each driver off, untangled the things from that factory knot, peeled those hideous foams off and stretched the Yaxi's over them. Snapped them back together easily and NOW they're something special. That said, unless you really need that microphone, the KPH40's have these outclassed in every way apart from the lovely little strain relief. They take porta pro pads with no surgery. They're lighter, they articulate, they're just ethereal, and they sound better. Not a huge amount better, but everything is just a little "tighter" with better bass extension. I still VERY much like them, and with Yaxi pads they actually fit decently. But the KPH40's are on another level. Get the KPH40's unless you really like the look of these, NEED the microphone and are willing to do the minor work needed to swap those heinous pads. But man. KPH40's with orange yaxi pads is pushing some serious starlord cred.

These remind me of the headphones they had in the school computer lab back in the 90s

This drop sucks. $5 discount and then $5 in shipping prices them the same as Amazon, but I get them in 2 weeks instead of tomorrow.

Same here. These sound great but they will break. I had 3 pairs break within six months. Koss needs to use a bit better plastic. They are so close to the perfect cheap headphone.

mattmikI just got a pair myself and they sound great, my only concern is that cable. My very first thought when seeing it was how easy would it be for me to crack open and replace it with something a bit higher-end that won’t break. I’m still on the fence whether I should do it or not.

mattmikYes. I bought two pair & broke them. The only other headphones I've ever had break on me were HiFiMan 4xx. Go figure.

Absolutely terrible plastic! Don't spend your money and time. I bought 3 of them, all 3 broke in a week time and went to garbage can

Oh this is great, I accidentally snapped the headband on my set the other day and need new ones! Nothing like a good discount!

PLEASE add the clear version to the next drop. It has better sound quality. And less clamp.

Yeah too damn much, I'm still pissed that I bought the damn hipdac off his recommendation, impractical af. But yeah that at least is true tho I'd call it a hair of difference. Just enough to but them over the normal ones

ALASNot sure about the sound quality diff. but if the clamping is an issue (it was for me) I now have the most comfortable headphones of all my phones by adding some super cheap Chinese earpads for Grados (Aliexpress search: "Earpad For GRADO PS1000 GS1000i RS1i RS2i SR60 SR125 M1 MPRO M2 SR80 Headphones Replacement Ear Pad Ear Cushion Ear Cups Foam "). The sound is great and I can listen all day long. Looking forward to trying the KPH40's .
