I would of jumped on this but I cant deal with that darn wire hanging. Why could they not have spent a little more time and develop it into the headphone itself?

haroex1if they change the internals like that, its going to become a different headphone altogether.

RasaskaMan...all they needed to do was mold the wire around the headband, add a plastic bit which stored the slack...

haroex1They could make a built-in system and call it the Sorta Pro. Sorta Porta, Porta Pig.

RasaskaThere is a headband area they could of revamped to possibly contain it, or clip to it, imagination is the limit. I realize they are an open headphone basically and the ear cups cant be modified much to prevent the sound signature from being altered but come on, this was a quick answer and did not have much thought put into it. I could of made this rendering of it in my own at my house with items purchased off of Amazon or E-bay and actually made it detachable so I can use it in wired mode with a separate cable also. And this took me all of 10 minutes to figure out without an engineers degree. LOL

haroex1It wouldn't be a porta pro then. They would have had to change the headband, bulk up the chassis to fit the battery, controls and mic and you would have essentially a different sounding/looking headphone with crappy battery life. Instead, they made a Bluetooth Porta Pro for people who love the fit and soundstage who don't have headphone jacks, which is exactly what people wanted.

MartinmooreSo a rush job for Apple users. Just kidding. I just don't like the dangling cord and they are not the only company doing this type of setup. Seems to be some kind of fad right now with companies. Some are even doing it to headphones of theirs which is considered exercising or sport headphones. How you can have a cable hanging down to your shoulders while working out is beyond me. I have a pair with a short cable that can be cinched around the back of the head and that is fine, but to have a cable rub on my neck or shoulders every time I turn is aggravating. Makes me wonder if there is any micro-phonics with these? I could see if someone has no choice but to me that cable takes the portability out of them if it aggravates you and it turns them into a sit down at home headphone which I have many headphones that are way better than these for that. Only good note on these is that they are under $100.00 for a Bluetooth headphone Notice I said Bluetooth, not wireless. LOL

haroex1ha! I think the biggest issue with bluetooth on-ear and ear buds is battery life. Over ear headphones have the luxury of a large chassis to hold a big battery and circuit board + controls. On-ear headphones and ear buds just don't have the space, and thus you get 3-6 hours of battery life tops. Look at Apple's BeatsX, they have controls and TWO batteries on their wire. I think had Koss tried to cram a battery (and I have no clue where the would have even put it) onto the Porta Pro at best it would get 4-5 hours. They essentially solved two problems by going the route they did, leave the soundstage as is that has made Porta Pro such a huge success, and more than double the battery life to 12hrs. That's big time battery life in such a small package. I have no doubt they tried everything they could to make a 'true wireless' Porta Pro but it probably was so far off weight/fit/soundwise that it just couldn't be called a 'Porta Pro.' I'm sure they are working on a true wireless version that will be vastly different, but for now you get the Porta Pro everybody loves, without the hassle of a 8ft cord and dongle :)

haroex1Too bad Apple devices can't decode/benefit from the aptX codec. Luckily my G6 can.

MartinmooreI'm sure there are many people that will be satisfied with the design dependent upon their individual use. I know usually when you want to gain something you usually lack in something else (cord being used gaining more battery room which increases time between charges). But in my situation, I would not have to have Bluetooth and it would just be short listening sessions so I would end up just using a corded Porta Pro and save the difference in price unless I was able to try the Bluetooth version to see if the cord had micro-phonics or aggravated me before I purchased them. Let me know what you think of them once you get them!

haroex1Yeah, headphones satisfy a specific set of needs for so many different people. Fit, Wired, Wireless, True Wireless, Soundstage, Appearance, On-Ear, In-Ear, Over-Ear, you name it, everyone's list of most important features is so different. I think like you said, people who REALLY appreciate the Porta Pro soundstage that's been so popular over the past 30+ years along with the portability and fit, will REALLY want these. They love Porta Pro and can finally throw their dongle in the trash....lol but like you said I think if having a bluetooth version isn't important or a need they will just stick with the wired version, or if the external battery and controls is an issue they'll get AirPods or whatever those crappy ones by Bose are...ha what's the saying.. different strokes for different folks! :)
