The only multi-fuel stoves I recommend are the ones from Primus. Either OmniFuel or Omnilite Ti will work just fine. Both are better made than Kovea, allow for precise simmering and still have a metal pump unlike MSR that has a flimsy plastic one. Primus makes most their stoves in Europe (recently, in Estonia).
Currently, Amazon has a great deal on OmniFuel at $115 (normally $150+).
