received this and the tip had already broken off. alltogether it feels like a cheap piece of dollar store junk, I'd advise getting a regular can opener from any department store over this.

Can’t say I’m thrilled with this product. I wanted it to open screw top jars/bottles, but it will only handle VERY small diameter tops. I also wanted it for pull tabs, as I am tired of breaking fingernails trying to open pull top cans. It will open them, but it’s kind of awkward. I would pass.

I personally bought one of these about 2 years back and it works great. It doesn't slice the can and result in sharp edges as a normal can opener does, but instead squeezes the lid so it comes off cleanly, and the lid is actually reusable to cover the can. It also has a small lid lifter (that tiny grey button on the side, with metal pincher on the opposite side) that you can use to lift the lid once removed so you don't have to touch anything. Don't even use the other functions but this thing is amazing as a can opener.

For what it's worth, I got one of these as a gift a couple of years back and I found it to be more gimmicky than functional. It worked, but not as well or as conveniently as purpose-built tools for each of its many features.

SnipatomicI would just want it for the can opener. Did that work properly for you? I would probably never use any of the other features. This is a very tempting drop considering its about 50% off what Amazon US is charging and my 30 year old can opener is nasty looking as hell!

eneroIt worked... but I recently gave the thing away in favor of a plain-old can opener which works better for opening cans...
Quoting the Cook's illustrated review of this tool: " This opener was hard to attach because its head blocked its gears. It had pincers for lid disposal, but they were finicky. Designed to be a five-purpose opener—cans, jars, tabs, and two kinds of bottle caps, its other uses hindered basic can opening—namely the large spike at the end of the handle for opening tabs that poked testers in the belly with each rotation. "

Leave it to the Swiss....this is a very cool kitchen tool that does it all. GREAT design....I'm all in on this one!!!!
