Bought KZ's "best" AS10s a year ago based on all the rave reviews online and especially Amazon. Having heard proper IEMs, these are nowhere near in the league. When people add that callous little phrase in their reviews, "amazing for its price!", I have learned to take that seriously. It may be 'amazing' for 50 bucks, but I'm surprised this is billed as an IEM. The sound is metallic even when used with of high-end foam or rubber or silicon ear tips, and the bass is severely lacking even in the "bass boost" version of these. I guess I'll stick to paying a bit more and getting proper sound.
And they're lower end than the AS10. Having tried that higher grade version, this company won't be getting any of my money. On Amazon their ranking appears high, but a quick look at fakespot.com yields many shills.
These just came out like a month ago...
Yes, from the same company that makes a crap higher model. Also with 5 drivers and all the rest of jazzy verbiage..
i really don't understand how you can call the AS10 a higher model without trying the new one
Im just saying theres no way you couldve bought them a year ago if theyve only been out for a month lol
he hasn't even heard the ZSX but he's calling them garbage based on nothing lol
And you're right. These precise buds are NOT what I bought (I've corrected my main comment). I bought the ZS10, then replaced with AS10. Both suck rocks. My commentary is about this company that is raved about online by "audiophile" blogs etc, but their products turn out to be rubbish. Their Amazon scores are full of fake shill reviews. Whether someone buys their "latest and greatest" new model is what I'm cautioning against. Hope this is clearer.
that's clearer. KZ released some bad IEMs but also some that sound pretty good. it depends on the model and they released at least 30 i believe so it's hard to judge them all based on past experience
what else would you suggest at the same price range? (not a joke question)
You might want to check out the BLON BL-03. The drop recently ended ($30) but you can find them on Amazon and Aliexpress for $40 or less. Many say the cable and tips need replacing but there are inexpensive options. I'd suggest reading the discussions on Drop and Headfi for users' evaluations and suggestions.
You can take a hair dryer or heat gun to the ear hooks and reshape. But yeah. The tips, at least for me, were useless.
I actually have these, and I can assure you they are nothing like the AS10's. The ZXS are what I consider to be KZ's first truly audiophile grade IEM. They literally compete with IEM's in the up to $400 range than I have and heard. But hey way to bash a product you haven't tried.. It's like saying the Audi R8 sucks because you didn't like the A4.
$400? Let’s not get crazy here. They barely compete with the ikko oh1. The Blon BL-03 competes nicely with the ikko oh10 and that’s not even breaking the 200 dollar mark. Something like the obravo Cupids in the 300 dollar range is on a whole nother level than the ksx.
Wasn't referring to everything in that range.. just what I've personally heard.. Like my Westone's and Sennheisers. At the end of the day it's all about what people enjoy... I'm not even generally and IEM's person. I usually always wear cans unless it's simply not feasible. Thankfully I had a much much better cable that fit these and that made a positive difference as well... Mostly I use them bluetooth for the gym and when I go bowling. lol
The ksx is a fun V shaped iem. Unfortunately I found the fit uncomfortable after about an hour with the lil dick knob thing pressing into my ear. It is easily KZs best iem to date.
Definitely agree with that.. Definitely KZ's best offering. I didn't like the fitment with supplied tips but I had some Spin Fit's laying around and now it's comfortable and stays put. Definitely well worth the asking price.
Absolutely. The value end of the IEM market (sub $100) is accelerating at a break neck pace.
