Founded in London in 1742, L. Kendall has a long history of maritime influence. The K5 collection is a perfect example. Similar in style to a chronograph, the watch tracks hours via the subdial at 12, minutes via the subdial at 6, and seconds via the slim central hand, which has a sextant-shaped counterbalance to emphasize the nautical look. Though thick, the hefty case construction serves a purpose: It’s made with four separate components (including a 4-millimeter-thick sapphire crystal on the caseback) to seal it off entirely from water damage. Propelled by a Swiss-made Dubois Dépraz automatic movement, the K5 is set on a distressed, handmade calfskin leather strap—not to mention it comes in four styles.
