Shitty packaging, great sound
That is a yes from me dog, if you like the darkvoice, you will really like this. I have not A-B'd between the two or to a reference amp yet. The dual knobs are great. Sound is warm and intimate, straight feels. It smells so far, it gets hot, no fire or sparks yet. I was listening to some Jazz with the 6XX, Take Five. I literally yelled out to myself damn, fuck, with a smile on my face, telling my girl to come take a listen. Jimi Hendrix - Jungle guitar licks were insane. Flute Loop - Beastie Boys was great. I did find myself wanting to crank up the volume to bring out some flatter songs. Packing was meh, putting a 22lb unit that is not totally cubed without foam supports in a cubed foam pocket with unsecured tubes. Smaller tubes were loose out of the boxes. Power tubes had small shards of glass loose in each tube. Everything is working great though and very happy with my purchase, exactly what I wanted so far.

A great amp that compete head to toe against the amps that are 3x of its price. This is testified by multiple persons that have various high-end gears, so enough is being said. I joined in the first drop. This has been my main amp for the past 6 months and never has a single complaint. I went to the rabbit hole and chased different tubes, and paid 2x than the amp itself for the tubes. My tube collection went from 0 to 20+, including 5998, Bendix, GEC, EF86 as well as many 6080s. Each tube sounds unique to me, and I enjoyed every minute with this amp.

MechEngMy experience aligns well with the reviews in many forums. GEC CV4079 + EF86 (both need adapters) combo works well.

I think this is tube endgame for me. I took a shot on this after owning the DarkVoice 336se and I have no regrets (totally didn't need an excuse to buy more tubes). It took a bit of getting used to having to balance the L/R channel manually, but it's really nice to be able to center the vocals when you get used to it. Effortlessly powerful, I didn't use stock tubes for long, comes with random cheap Chinese tubes. So ymmv tube sound-wise. Even with stock tubes the amp is warm and detailed though (I am feeding it some Schiit though so DAC choice may also obviously play it's part). Would recommend.

Apologies I don't monitor this, so stumbled across it much later. It's been so long I can't remember exactly what I grabbed for tubing, I'd been reading through some forums to find ideas on what would be good. For the v1 slots I'm using a pair of matched RCA 5693 Special Red tubes, for v2 it looks like some form of matched 6AS7G tube, labeled RCA 7304 on both tubes. Very warm sound overall, smooths out biting sibilance really well while still being clear and powerful in other areas. Tubes are all a little different though, and it's going to depend a lot on your chain, so I hope you found something that fits with your setup :)

4 Updates below. Amp arrived today so far sounding good. When the amp arrived all the tubes were broken with broken glass everywhere and i spend the good part of 30 mins shaking it to get glass out. Luckily i had some tubes lying around. There is some damage on the top by the logo. Real bummer how its not packaged very well and gets hammered in shipping. Sound so far is great, smell is wearing down as it breaks in. Will update as i go. few days in, using Amperex tubes all around. RME adi 2 fs dac feeding into it. Pretty amazing sound. I really love my cayin ha1a but this might be taking its place. fantastic sound. Update - have had it running from 9am - 8pm every day for 2 weeks . REALLY love this amp i was not expecting it to be this good. Fantastic sound clear, sharp, wide and deep sound stage. Def a keeper. Update2: one thing i have noticed is the "microphonics" (?) on the left side. if i tap the left side of the amp i can hear it in my head phones, right side very quiet. I assume something has gone bad. Update 3: had it for a few months now. Had to take it in for repairs. lots of junk wiring and cheap parts burnt up (expected) they replaced some things and gave me a bag full of things. Sounds fantastic again, really not alot that sounds liek this. Update 4 : April 14th 2021. It think it officially died. Worked for a day after getting it back. Today the left channel again sound like its singing through a sponge. swapped tubes, different tubes etc... I think im done throwing money at it. It lasted 3-4 months.. Stay away.

While i totally agree... their website is shenzhenaudio.com. I 100% went in with it expecing to be garbage but once working sound fantastic. Which it does. I totally agree it should not happen but you all cannot be that suprised or that upset....most of these cheaper Chinese amps sound good but have loads of cheap hardware and have issues. yes, not all are the same, SMSL, Toppings etc....

Love the left/right volume knobs (more organic/natural interaction with music)
You can even play with the volumes knobs to have a better understanding/feeling of your favorite music!

sachalussierI'm thinking about getting one, but if the two volume controls are simple variable resistors rather than a stepped, calibrated resistor network the very first mod I would do is replace the two volume pots with matched stepped resistors from someone like Grayhill or Vishay. Balancing the stereo image is something mixing and mastering engineers are fanatical about, and in a recording where drums are left and piano is right, having to guess where the middle is actually supposed the be would be frustrating as hell.

Great tube amp, upgraded from 336.
In my opinion the amp is great, there is some tube hum from the stock power tube but after replacing the stock power tube to a pair of GE JAN the hum is gone completely. I also paired the tube with a set of Raython USA 6SJ7 and the experience is great, it sounds clear and crisp and somewhat neutral when paired with my DT880 600ohm. Compared to 336 there is noticeably less distortion from what I can hear therefore I like this amp over a stock 336. I may mod the 336 in the future to explore its potential but for an out of the box experience I would prefer the 339i over 336.
