One of my favorite headphones is the Audeze LCD-4z with 15 ohm impedance. The LF recommends minimum impedance of 32 ohms. Is this combination not ideal? Thanks

HowardCi am no expert but i reached out to audeze ( you should do the same) about my lcd2s on the dark voice. The tech said all LCD headphones can take up to a watt of power and said i should be fine. Regardless, ask them over believing me or anyone else.

HowardCThat's an awfully low impedance for an OTL, planar headphones and an OTL would be the least optimal pairing I could think of. That doesn't mean you will dislike it but it goes against most rules of thumb in amp matching. You may run into issues with a lack of current capabilities. OTL can handle decent voltage swings but are current limited. Most planar headphones thrive on current delivery because of their relatively low impedance and sensitivity.
