Designed by Gerd A. Müller, an influential advocate of the Bauhaus movement, the LAMY 2000 Fountain Pen is a masterpiece of modern minimalism Read More
This is an example of a reasonably priced pen that outperforms rivals many times its price. Nib is buttery smooth and the feel of the body material is firm, cool, and enjoyable. I love the audible click of the cap, which by the way is airtight to avoid ink accidents. Easily one of the favorites in my collection, lots of performance without being too pompous.
The style at functionality's service. That's the 2000. I just love the feel of the makrolon in hand, and I'm usually a detractor of metal sections on fountain pens, but this one is so well made that I can't even complain about that.
I gave 4 stars because mine had to take a trip back to the factory to get its EF nib substitued, but it's no doubt an infalible workhorse: click-on cap provides fast uncapping while being on of the most reliable and firm closing caps I've owned (Montblanc's Generation fountain pen has a similar feel to it); has a big belly, so you don't have to pay attention to reloading if you have a "refilling rythm" (being a piston filler usually ensures a nice ink reservoir -unless those fake piston fillers that actually have a converter inside-, and I like that, so piston fillers are usually one of my first choices); Has a gold nib, and even though nowadays there's very good alloys, for me it's a little extra that makes it easier to pay for an instrument in that price range; and it's been in production for so long that there're spare parts everywhere.
I already owned an old 2000 when I bought this, along with a Profil 86 I parted ways with (regretting it soon after) , so I can say I like these Lamyes.
It's refreshing when classic icons are still some of the best choices for modern enthusiasts - I reach for this pen more than nearly any other in my case, PERIOD. If you appreciate design, quality, subtlety, and writing, you shouldn't have any hesitation in pulling the trigger on this classic.
Wow! I absolutely LOVE this fountain pen! Of all the pens I've collected over the years, I keep reaching for this one! If you're on the fence about getting this pen, don't be. Just get it!
I like the looks and design of the pen. The problem I have with it is the section. I find it very slippery and so difficult to hold the nib to it's sweet spot.
its a Lamy 2000, well known pen in fountain pen community, I had 2 and this was my 3rd one.
love the hooded nib and its a gold nib. I got the extra fine nib and it writes like a Japaneses medium nib.
it has a sweet spot and its not hard to find the spot, highly recommend any fan of fountain pens or any writer to get on
Writes beautifully, smooth, well-balanced, great price. I purchased the fine point, it's closer to a medium, though. I knew that going into this drop and I'm very happy with the purchase.
