Apologies, again, for the excessively long post:
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I’m both poor and impatient. - not always a good combination. This got me wondering if I could figure out what would be an estimated “reshipment” date for this current drop. I think I did. Hopefully, we will have more information from Massdrop on Wednesday, November 19th. Until then, this is what I’ve figured out:
This discussion board is a continuation of a previous purchase of the L2K by Massdrop. If we compare the two drops and account for current, known delays, we can extrapolate a new, estimated reshipment date range: the L2K could reship sometime between November 21st and November 25th. This is approximately 1-2 weeks later than the original estimated ship date.
How did I get to these dates? Last time around, there were no unforeseen delays and, according to discussion posts from Massdrop, the item probably reshipped on or about the estimated reshipment date. According to previous post dates, the last drop ended on or about September 30th, with another posting, 1 week later, saying the vendor had shipped the pens. Massdrop then posted that the pen was reshipped on or about October 11th. The earliest posting by a member of that drop suggests receipt on or about October 14th. The latest shipment date (receipt of pen by USPS) was for October 14th.
In the case of the current drop, we know of a delay of at least 1 week. Assuming this is the only delay, and reshipment goes similarly to last time, the pens should be received by USPS anytime from Friday, November 21st to Tuesday, November 25th. The only concern I have is that the latest update from Massdrop says that the pens *should* ship from the vendor by the end of last week. The most recent update does not say that the pens *did* ship from the vendor by the end of last week. Based on this new info, some of us should see our pens as early as a week from tomorrow. :-)
My original post stands, however: this is a great pen at a great price. I think it would be nice if Massdrop posted an “estimated reshipment date range” as opposed to “estimated ship date”. I would have still made the purchase, but I would have had more realistic expectations of when I would have it in my hot little hands. I know that Massdrop qualifies the estimated reshipment date with a reference to "no unforeseen delays," but these delays sometimes do happen. Having a range might make for happier customers. Just sayin'.
And I wouldn’t keep asking, “Are we there yet?” ;-)
As with all of my previous posts, this is meant to be helpful and informative. I hope that my suggestions are taken in the constructive spirit in which they are offered. Also, I have absolutely no affiliation with anything or anyone associated with this drop other than that I participated in it by purchasing the item and am still looking forward to receiving my awesome Lamy 2000.
I hope this helps.
Cheers to all.

cca310@cca310 , you are very kind. Watch my head inflate like a balloon. In truth, I feel (and hope) my suggestions and perspectives represent common sense solutions that will address our concerns. Our situation is not unique on Massdrop.
