THIS is what I'm talkin' about!
NB: This is the "longer version" of my post immediately previous to this one.
Like most of those participating in this drop, the additional delay is a bit disappointing. However, this kind of update - honest and forthright - is precisely the kind of customer service I expect and believe is reasonable. Also, giving folks the option to "opt out" is a welcome measure from Massdrop.
*If* the response had been the generic, canned response we were getting initially, my sentiment would have been, "WTF, Massdrop?" Now, my thinking is, "Okay, so how does this affect the likely delivery date? Can I have someone check to see if this has arrived if I'm not home?" In my case, I fully expect to stick with the drop.
My issue is far less with the delay than in how the delay is handled. In this case, according to the @HassanS, Massdrop is taking some responsibility by offering the "opt out". Massdrop is asking the proverbial "WTF" question to their source on our behalf. Finally, Massdrop is keeping us in the loop.
I believe all of these are reasonable expectations and, better late than never, Massdrop is making good.
I hope we continue to see clear, honest and comprehensive updates for the remainder of the process.
Cheers to all.
