Holy S*&%! The pen arrived. With the ink. Well packaged, with a clear invoice. I ordered an EF nib and it definitely seems to write like an ... EF nib.
To answer the question about the ink, from @cca310, the color matches the pen. If you ordered a L2K in turquoise that's actually black, then you got Lamy Turquoise ... that's actually black. I like green, so my ink is .... black, which is the same color as the pen. And the Model-T.
For those who are not quite sure how to prep the pen for its first run, I benefitted greatly from this video:
As others have mentioned, you might notice a little squirt of blue when you're cleaning it before the first filling. This is the ink they use to test the nibs.
So there it is. The pen has arrived (for me, at least). And 2 days before my "worst case scenario" date, to boot.
To @HassanS, thanks for going from "boilerplate" to "real" updates. In retrospect, if I had known it would be close to a month delayed, I would not have participated, but no one knew it would be delayed that much until the Iowa vortex thing and subsequent vendor delays. @HassanS was great in keeping us apprised.
If I order from Massdrop in the future, I will simply assume that the estimated shipping date means I will get the item within a month of the stated date. If I want to wait that long for an item I can't or won't get elsewhere, I'll join the drop.
The capacity of the pen seems to be about 1.2-1.5ml (from my quick check using water). I'll probably try to swap my 48.5 ml. bottle of ink for another color/brand.
Thanks again for the sincere efforts from Massdrop to work through this frustrating situation and thanks for the education in participating in this grand experiment.
Cheers to all.
