I'm very excited to get this pen. I like everything about it that I can see in the pictures. Great looking design.
As a fountain pen newbie, I have a question: I see a lot of folks were clamoring for Extra Fine tips. Is there something about Extra Fine that's special in regards to how a fountain pen writes? I've always used Medium, and sometimes Fine - I generally prefer a somewhat bolder line. But I've never in the past gotten deep into ink shading and other ink nuances, etc, so I'm wondering if an Extra Fine nib offers something special in that regard. A lot of folks seem to want Extra Fine, and I'm curious as to why. Thanks.
K.T.NFor me, it has to do with the quality of paper and what I am writing. If the quality of paper isn't very good, extra fine makes it less visible in the backside and less feathering occurs. Also, if you are writing notes or mathematical equations, sometimes it helps to have smaller tip. Overall, it's personal preference and depends largely on your handwriting.
