Just wanted to say I bought this last drop and admittedly it's spent most of it's time in my pen holder. Don't write too much at home but I don't want to deal with filling it at work and if it "disappears". Which is unfortunate because I do like it over the al-star I currently use at work. But it's just far more convenient to use cartridges than dealing with ink bottles and such. Still no regrets at finally getting the 2000 for a little over $100.

vrillusionsIt's highly unlikely that you can use up a fill in a day. This thing has a 1+ ML capacity.
I'm a firm believer of refilling a pen -- depending on usage patterns -- every 1-2 days. Assuming you don't switch inks around of course. This gives a nice flush and lubrication to the pen.
You can work that into your daily routine, and well ... pens growing legs at work varies place to place. I'm lucky enough to not ever have faced that problem (with that said though, I too keep them in a case and carry them with me from and to work).

vrillusionsThat's more of a cartridge vs bottle ink problem than a pen problem. I've never gotten into the habit of using cartridges, and I write a LOT. At most, I have to fill up this pen twice a week, maybe three times if I'm writing more than usual, but as long as you make sure you have a decent ink level before you head out, you shouldn't have to worry about filling it up at work or on the go.
