121.9 grams?! That's quite heavy for a pen. Your wrist would go numb after writing for 30 minutes.

MtioJayEither it's a typo or (more likely) that's the weight of the whole box. The pen itself weighs around 17g. I have a CP1 and it's one of my workhorse pen: it's reliable (as all Lamy pens are), light and it gives some kind of "denser" metal feel compared to an Al-Star (not considering the Safari, which is an ABS pen). It's also incredibly stilish in its minimal look, all straight lines lovers like myself should have one in their pen case. I have only a couple of complaints: the grip section is made of plastic, which doesn't give the same high end feel of the body, but I suppose it is an inevitable choice: direct contact of ink with metal is extremely undesirable, and considering the small size of the grip, I suppose having an outer metal shell and an internal plastic feed compartment would have simply been impossible to make. The other issue I found with this pen is about posting its cap, even if I personally never do it with any pen. Those who do like doing it might find out that posting the CP1 cap moves the center of gravity much higher than it would be without the cap, causing some unbalance if you have small to medium hands (this is probably due to the weight of the steel clip). By the way, the CP1 looks much more stilish with a black coated Lamy nib, IMHO. I use it with a black EF and I love it!

MtioJayYes the weight Is off, maybe the box is included in weight but the overall weight will be quite similar to a lamy Safari.

AlexGkThanks for the in-depth details. I kinda knew the weight was off, I checked on Lamy's spec page. It's a shame about the weight distribution of posting the cap, because I usually do it so I don't lose the cap. However, I still agree completely about the CP1's stylish minimalistic look. Everyone needs a discrete fountain pen!
