I collected fountain pens for a few years, not recently. As a first pen this is probably not a bad choice, if the shape is comfortable for you. Lamy nibs run a little wide, so you might want a Fine. I'd also suggest visiting your nearest stationery superstore (if applicable) and at least try dry-writing with the meager selection they'll have, to see what fits your hand. For ink, I find that several places I knew are now gone, but Pendemonium is still there and they are good people.
