I own a Safari and I encourage people who prefer fine nibs to order the extra fine nib on this drop. Lamy's fine tips are closer to medium than fine. If you look around online you'll find the same mentioned by many people. The fine Safari is a good deal thicker than my fine Metropolitan.

AxelClorisJapanese nibs are always finer than German/European nibs. It all depends on what kind of nibs you're used to. Lamy is pretty typical for European.
