Winner of both the “Good Design Award” and the “iF Design Award” upon its release, the LAMY Studio fountain pen is highly functional and undeniably fashionable. It features a lacquered metal body and a sturdy steel nib that provides excellent feedback and smooth ink flow Read More
CheesecakeRecent beginner myself - it depends a lot on your handwriting. Do you print or write in cursive typically? And is your handwriting generally small and compact or big and flowing?
What I did was start with two low price pens, one fine nib and one medium. From there I realized I liked fine nib better for daily notes / journaling.
I got my Imperial Blue a few weeks ago, just inked it up this week and the EF nib is the worst on any of my Lamy's. It's literally cutting into the paper. This is unusual, especially since I received the Olive a few weeks later and the EF nib writes like a dream (which is typical of Lamy). Is there any course of action to swap the nib on this?
Strange that so many people are complaining about converters...ughhh as I say to my husband 'OPEN YOUR EYESSSSS' you have to READ the listing, some sites offer with converters, some without, you should never assume that an item is coming with any extras that are sold separately on most sites, one thing I can say though is that Drop should have never included a picture with a converter if it didn't come with one...since most of their customers seem to go by pictures. I'm pretty happy with my studio just the same, it was an amazing deal and I have no complaints, it's the same as my other ones that I spent a lot more on
Hi Miren. Sorry for not getting back to you. Can you please email us baharillc@gmail.com and we will try and resolve your issue. please let me know when you have sent the e-mail
Skullet I appreciate your feedback... I have had a few complaints about scratches on steel nibs previously and honestly I have no idea why and how this happened but I will be sure to find out and get back to you...
I agree with you about the picture being a misleading.
MIKEKPENOk well I don't want to return it but it might be worth consulting your supplier. The nib writes beautifully and the pen itself appears brand new.
I attached a picture from another drop Lamy did of the Lamy accent which shows that pens details says comes with Z27 converter and in this drop it didn't say that. Loo at the details page for this drop https://drop.com/buy/lamy-studio-fountain-pens#overview and compare it to the drop for the studio.
Here is a better picture for you: As you will note the Lamy Accent Picture clearly states Comes With a Z27 Converter whereas this drop for the studio doe not.
Let me know if you need further clarification. For the price you paid for this pen you could always purchase a Z27 converter from EndlessPens for 3.50 or other retailers for $6-10 and the price would still be cheaper then other retailers inclusive of a converter...food for thought...
Included in Studio: Gift Box
Include in Accent: Gift Box, Z27 Converter..
MIKEKPENThanks for the clarification. I was confused because the converter is mentioned in the specs of the product and therefore didn't think it would need to be in the "included" section (just like, say, the Nib is in the specs section, but not listed in the "included" section--but is clearly included with the price of the pen). You're right that I can purchase a converter, but that's not the point: it's an extra thing that I will have to buy when the description was unclear. If you look through the comments, there's a lot of other people who were confused and are now disappointed by this just like I am. I appreciate the product and like the price. I just wish the description were clearer and I wasn't surprised (unpleasantly) when I received the pen.
