Featuring a sleek lacquered metal body, the Lamy Studio fountain pen offers a contemporary take on the classic cigar-shaped design. The pocket clip is reminiscent of a propeller, its chrome plating providing a gleaming complement to the palladium finish Read More
I liked this pen so much I bought a second one. It's my daily writer, has the perfect line thickness, balance in hand and style. Great pen, great nib at a great price.
Love the design of this pen, but it feels lighter and less substantial than I would've preferred. It also requires writing with a slow stroke. That took a bit of time to get used to; at first I thought the gold nib was really disappointing. The inner plastic casing that makes the cap post (and also click into place) fell out during the first week. But it's held together by a tiny screw which I was able to re-tighten fairly easily. It's about what you would expect for a higher end LAMY. No real surprises. Not my favorite pen, but I'm pleased with the purchase overall.
Terrible, terrible, terrible.
The pen barrel design fatigues your hands as you need to grip hard to hold on to the pen or your fingers will slip down to the nib. The nib on my pen was a joke - scratchy on all directions - nothing like a gold Lamy nib - i know because i have 2 other identical EF gold nibs on other pens that write like butter. If what you want is smooth thin line writing , buy a gold nib from a reputable dealer (not Massdrop), online or not, or buy the whole pen from the same - even if you spend an extra $10 or $20, trust me, it will be worth it if you have issues as Massdrop has no clue what they are selling (which most of the time carries no warranty what so ever) so they cannot judge what they received and blindly send it to you - you need to know exactly what you bought and IMMEDIATELY test it and all you will be able to do is return it (maybe) if not happy. I am plenty aware that i might have received a "lemon" of a nib, but for this price, it should be handled by the seller. I will stay away going forward - you will likely stay away too when (not if!) it happens to you :-)
