GonzoTGreatGonzo, my man, I tell you from experience: you must learn to turn away from the deals more often than you don't. This comes from a man who bought the K7XX immediately after buying the Q701 from Massdrop, because "it seemed like a good deal," burning $400 for what is essentially identical headphones, save for the color and a few minor tweaks. Massdrop will consume you if you let it hahahaha.

I appreciate your concern and solidarity. I've done similar things that seem silly in retrospect.
Fortunately, Massdrop now sends out their updates directly in follow-up emails to participants. I'll just have to take some time away from this site. Unless they can offer a Pilot VP for $50 or Custom 823 for $100, I think I'll be okay.
As for the headphones, now you don't have to carry a pair between stereos.
I'm usually pretty mindful of my budget and will just have to resist the good deals (for a little while, at least) that are sure come up on this site.
And browse at my own risk.
