gunbitIt has USB3 but no SATA, so in theory yes, in practice not really. After $150 for this plus the cost of external drives, you're better off just buying drives with Nas capability built in. Unless there's some fancy feature only say freenas has built in that you just got to have.
gunbitFor this price, it's better to build one by yourself. A mobo with a Celeron on board + some gb ddr3 + a case + a psu, that's all you need for a decent NAS.
gunbitIf you can still find it at regular price, going with a HP Proliant Microserver Gen8 is a much better option for a NAS. Get one and slap xpenology on it and you're done.
