I went for the Orange one; easier to find when you drop it in the flowerbed. Color aside, I like this thing plenty! Especially the "hold" feature (stabilizes the temp for a quick, accurate reading). Also like the fact that it's got a magnet on the handle so it's easy to store it on or near the grill. Comes with a handy chart to determine what the temp corresponds to (Rare, Med, etc...). Bottom line: this has made me a much better "griller" than I ever was--plus, all the chicks who used to dis' me, think I'm hot stuff now!

This is super handy. I use the magnets in it to stick it to the oven hood and I'm checking temps on things all the time now. I've had other probe thermometers, but this one is faster (very nearly instant), sharper (easier to poke into a steak), the almost folding-knife style form factor is super convenient, and a lot of other details (like the screen auto-rotating) make this very convenient to use.

I've been using mine daily at work now for a couple of months and it's a fantastic thermometer. Love the magnet, speed and display. My only gripe, and its just a personal one, is that I'd like to switch between F and C easier with a dedicated button. It's not essential but it makes cooking in a restaurant easier since I'm not in America and have recipes using both.

Got in on the last drop specifically so I could have this when smoking my Thanksgiving turkey. Even though I bought the orange model for its high visibility, I tore my kitchen apart looking for the damn thing and never did find it. Three days after Thanksgiving, I was putting something away in the kitchen and out of the corner of my eye I spied a little cardboard box tucked away on top of the fridge and lo and behold there is my friggin brand new Javelin PRO, new and unused. I don't remember putting it there. My wife denied putting it there. The dog can't reach. After measuring the temp of my coffee, my waffle syrup, the butter and pretty much everything else in reach, it went in the utility drawer. It looks cool and is very accurate. Tempted to order another to keep on top of the fridge.

I never thought I would write a review about a thermometer but this thing is great! Super quick to read temperatures, great screen. I'm not sure how I cooked without it before! It would be nice to have an easier way to switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius but other than that its excellent.

As much as I'd like a Thermapen, I could never see spending $100 dollars to measure the temperature of my food. Maybe it's fractionally more accurate than these are, but I haven't had any trouble getting the job done with this guy. For the price, I don't think you can beat it.
