Dr.McCoyWe stand behind our product and will gladly go head to head with the Thermapen on a performance test. The Javelin PRO Duo is lighter, slimmer, with a neat intelligent hold function and integrated magnets. On top of that, we have a large ambidextrous best-in-class FSTN display, which is far sharper and bolder than Thermapen's display. At half the price, a battery life in the thousands of hours, and a longer warranty period, we're confident you'll be satisfied with our product! But sure, Thermoworks.

LavatoolsI use mine (two of them) for HVAC troubleshooting. I went with the Javelin PRO Duo because of the speed and the magnet. I know it's not meant for what I am using it for but the HVAC thermometers in this style are just slow. I now of about 6 HVAC techs that I have showed this thermometer to that now use it themselves. To be honest I used to have the Thermapen. The Thermapen was the 1st food thermometer I used for HVAC troubleshooting. But, I lost my old Thermapen out of my tool bag and instead of replacing it I went with the Javelin and I like it better. The Javelin is a beast too. I am using it as a tool in a tool bag which it has last a year or so being beat up doing what I do for a living. At full retail the Thermapen is just not worth the extra 50 bucks. I highly recommend the the Javelin PRO Duo over the Thermapen MK4.
