I laughed to myself a few weeks ago as I was pitching my tent while car camping. I pulled out my little Lawson Dyneema pouch & marveled at the 25 or so titanium stakes, also made by Lawson Equipment. I laughed because I thought to myself, "don't you have enough ti stakes", and then silently answered "if he was still making them, I'd buy more". I log on to MassDrop yesterday, and I now have 8 more on the way. I've got a set of his original "Ti-Eye" stakes from when he first opened his webfront, having discovered them on bpl. I later bought a set of the shepherd hooks, and then the beefier shepherd hooks that are my goto stakes now. I've got a cuben bear bag setup from him that was there for 500 miles of the AT, and many more nights since, as well as quite a bit of his cordage. Lawson Equipment has been through several iterations, as they've honed in on what's popular, as well as what they're good at making. There are products that they've made in the past that I would buy again if given the chance, just so I'd have a backup, but to date, no backup has been needed. They make a great product, and they're proud to be making it in the USA. I'm excited to find them here on MassDrop.

The new redesigned stakes are fantastic and I grabbed some 8" when he first released them. It's hard to find an 8" ti stake period but it's great to also have one that is so strong and not a noodle! Glowire is about my favorite cord now for lines. I use some smaller line for general purpose but replaced the guylines for all of my tarps and tents with Glowire a couple seasons ago. Lawson anything is high quality, not overpriced, and one of the very happy times to marry that with made in the USA. I can't recommend these new stakes enough. You wouldn't think a simple ti rod stake would be that different from the next one, but these are noticeably a step up.

Happy to see Lawson on here! Super great stuff. I use his guyline and stakes on with my various TarpTents and BSI Mirage. Easy to find his name on the BPL forums @seenypaul

Once again, a "Best of Massdrop" with no apparent Massdrop history? This is the second time in just a couple of weeks. What gives? Also, my previous question on this issue was never really answered, but I guess I didn't really express that clearly. So, what is the definition of a "Best of Massdrop" item?

@DannyMilks actually before I asked this question (both times) I entered the item into the Massdrop search box to try to figure out for myself what I missed. When I enter "Lawson Equipment" in there now, only the current active drop shows up and no polls. Now that you have told me, I was able to enter just Lawson and found that single previous offer for the Dutchware combo, and a single poll with Glowire getting 59 votes. Search the forums? The search box doesn't seem to be giving me any hits on that at all. How does one search the forums other than by reading every post? So I guess I'm still at a loss to see how these qualify as a "Best of." I guess for my purposes I have to simply ignore that designation as highly subjective.
