I get that these are older movements destined for the scrap heap and I like that they’ve been repurposed. If you wear cuffed shirts to work and you’re a watch guy, these are neat. I have a pair of old circuit board cuff links. They were $30. What I don’t get is the price. $240 seems like quite a bit of markup when you can purchase an actual Swiss working movement (stp or sw-200) for less.

I'm sure there are differing and equally valid views, but to my mind there is very little point in a watch movement that does not keep time.

Is it just me, or does it seem a little bit disrespectful to treat old (even if they are no longer working) watch movements in this way?

I think if the movements were protected by being cast in clear resin I might feel differently. That would keep them from getting scratched up and dusty - even if they can no longer serve their original purpose.

MandoBearYeah, that would be pretty sweet and it would less likely to get caught on something as well because of the gearing on the movement.
