I bought this pen with a fine nib in silver directly from Levenger about 2 weeks ago. It was slow to start with a cartridge. I flushed it with water and switched to the converter filled with Pilot Iroshizuku ink from a previous drop. It still takes a short stroke for it to start writing but it's not nearly as bad as it was. The stylus works really well. I've mostly used the mesh one on my phone and tablet. The tolerances on the threading on this pen are very good. The flat edges of the barrel line up perfectly. It's got a solid feel and heft to it, it's also comfortable to write with.
If you're on Levenger's mailing list you could possibly get this pen for 20% off + $6 shipping. There's other ways to work their deals and possibly get it cheaper but you're going to wait a while. This really is a great price at the lowest drop especially considering this pen came out less than a month ago.
RainReignThanks for the review. We have a sample unit in-house and when I inserted the ink cart, I did a couple of soft shakes and it was off to the races. I didn't have any issues with ink flow.
On another note, we are offering all three nib sizes in both finishes, Levenger is only offering Chrome with the Fine nib on their site.
andyI'm thinking it's my nib in particular. No matter what I did it was really slow to start with the cartridge. I emailed their customer service about it. They're really good about taking care of things.
