As far as I can find (even looking on Amazon and their website) the Splendor retails for $89.00, so it's a pretty damn good deal. Great job MD! edit: As opposed to the posted $79.00

I'm looking for a good first pen to start with. Is this a good one? If not how about pointer to one?

linuxhermitI would Highly recommend the Lamy Safari or Al-star as a starter pen, neither is very expensive and they work really well. I've heard the Pilot Metropolitan is good as well, but honestly I didn't like mine much as the body is wide and posting the cap could make it not close correctly again.

linuxhermitIf you are looking for something really cheap, preppy platinum is a pretty good starter pen, can find it for a dollar or 2 and they write pretty well.

Thanks again for joining this drop! With your help we were able to make it successful for the community. We've just submitted the group's order with the vendor for the Levenger Splendor Fountain Pen and they are working hard to prepare it for shipment.
As soon as the group's order is ready at the vendor's location, they will send the bulk shipment to our warehouse in New Jersey where our warehouse team will break it up into individual orders and ship them directly to you! The current estimated ship date from our warehouse is 5/4.
Rest assured that we we will provide you all with updated information regarding the status of your order throughout the process. You can expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 4/28.

Any thoughts to extend drop at all? I am planning to purchase one (at higher price), possibly two of these, if the lower price is met. That will put the current standing at 32 or 33 out of the 40 needed. Hope it can be achieved! The picture of the gunmetal is beautiful.

Is the picture displayed at the top of this drop and the one that shows the pen in the box the black pen or the gunmetal? Want to make sure I order the correct color.
KusakunI believe the picture of the pen in the box is the gunmetal.

Only question is, fine, medium, or bold? I think I would like fine but what do you guys think. I'm also a left handed individual if that make a dfference.

Alex_MatierI'd go with a fine to help dry times. Less ink layed less dry time. Especially if you have the standard left hand hook grip. Medium or broad might not allow enough time for the ink to dry before your hand gets to it.

Levenger seems to use those same nibs in the vast majority of their pens, true writers, L-techs, and many of the others. I would consider if it wasn't such a blatant design wrip-off of the Lamy Studio. Then again, I am coming to like the Lamy bodies and nibs more than the Levenger bodies and nibs for use as economical every day writers.
