R to L: Parker Jotter, TWSBI 700R, Platinum Century 3776, TW Select
A few other facts about the TW Select:
—it’s one of the few pens in my collection that I prefer to use unposted, and it’s quite comfortable that way
—it uses standard international cartridges and converters and comes with an excellent levenger branded converter
—the nib is about a #6, but it’s a proprietary nib and so other brands of nibs will not fit (gold nibs are not available)
—cleaning and maintenance are easy as the nib is friction fit inside the threaded housing. Other TW Select nibs are available (f,m,b) and are easily replaceable
I have one and I like it very much. I have a Mediterranean in broad. It is a solid, well made pen with a very smooth steel nib. It posts, but it’s almost 7” long with the cap posted. It’s a large pen, perfect for larger hands. Its quite reliable; i have often left it capped for weeks at a time, but it never hard starts or skips on me.
The pen usually retails for ~$160 on the levenger site, but they often run sales that bring the price down significantly. If you like the look of the pen, I would join the drop—you won’t be disappointed in the performance.
Does anyone have experience with this pen? It looks nice, but I am curious as I have never handled a Levenger pen before. How is its quality compared to a Platinum, Watermen, Pelikan,...?
