Why would anyone get this if you have the chance of getting the Vast?

BeFunkMusicIPS instead of VA (both are oustanding panel types with their own pros and cons, but many prefer IPS over VA). Comes factory calibrated (a weakness of the Vast).
Basically, the Vast offers better performance. The LG offers better overall picture quality out of the box. Pick your poison.

BeFunkMusicI want a USB-C monitor with USB hub, so that I can plug my laptop into the monitor, charge it, and attach keyboard/mouse all with one cable. The Vast doesn't have that, this one does.

Predecessor had a FreeSync range of 55-75hz, which is pathetic. This model is listed as FreeSync compatible, but doesn't list the range as far as I can find.
Some day, LG will figure out how to give this series a proper 30-75hz FreeSync range with LFC. But today is not that day.
