Why is the group tally going down? I thought we had 145 or so people originally, this morning it said 140 (me + 139 others), and now it says 139 (me + 138 others). Did some folks fail to pay (bad credit card, etc.), dispute the charges, or just cancel their order?

StewartWBNot sure, I thought you can not cancel your order. I mean technically i can call amex as they have protection for any merchant who doesnt want to take a return it but not sure if thats what people did.
I also see the number dropping. 137 now. I Would love to cancel and get it from newegg (im sure many of us). For a nearly $1K LCD I am nervous to get a bad one right out of the box and actually have to deal with LG direct for replacement . Newegg would be simple. Any update on shipping at all?

NycevanNewegg would be simple? The only reason I stopped buying from Newegg was because of how terrible they are at dealing with returns or exchanges. I'd rather pay a little extra and get something from Amazon where I know I'll have a no hassle interaction if I have to contact them. I'd also be slightly concerned that newegg removed any mention of the 3yr warranty on the ones they have on ebay, and instead is selling a 3yr squaretrade warranty for $109.
Needless to say I was burned by newegg once and am a bitter about it, prior to that I was actually quite newegg positive, so you might want to take my opinions with a grain of salt.

StewartWBIt's a combination of all of those factors.
What's kind of interesting/funny is we see some fraudulent credit card use which results in charge-backs. For a company like Amazon that ships the same day they get the order, they end up losing money. Since we have a 5-10 day (or longer in this case) delay as we receive the order, chargebacks due to stolen credit cards are a basically non-existent for us. If they happen, they typically happen 3-4 days after the transaction which is before we ship the product, and then we just don't ship it!
